A new trailer for Spike Jonze’s Her has been released.
Her, a science fiction romance film written and directed by Spike Jonze, tells the story of a lonely man (Joaquin Phoenix) who falls in love with his new operating system, Samantha (voiced by Scarlett Johansson) after the breakdown of his marriage.
This film marks Jonze’s solo screenwriting debut, after being known for his collaborations with Charlie Kaufman, most notably on the 1999 film Being John Malkovich.
Also starring in this film are Amy Adams, Rooney Mara and Olivia Wilde.
The film premiered at this year’s New York Film Festival, and Scarlett Johansson received the Best Actress award at the Rome Film Festival last month for her part as the OS Samantha. However, she was declared ineligible for a Best Supporting Actress nomination at the Golden Globes.
Her will receive limited release in the US on December 18th before a wide release on January 10th to accommodate an awards campaign. It will be released on January 24th in the UK.
