Seth Meyers Talks Leaving Saturday Night Live

Sad and good news for Saturday Night Live fans, funny man Seth Meyers will be leaving the show later this year. Seth recently announced that later this year he will be leaving SNL, but the good news is it’s for his takeover on NBC’s Late Night in early 2014.

When speaking to Gotham, he talked about how it feels to leave and the “Poehler way”. Meyers said, “It’s hard to wrap my head around the idea of leaving a place where I’ve lived and breathed for so long.”

Then Meyers cracked a bit of a joke and said, “I’d love to go out the [Amy] Poehler way, which is to just have my water break, drop the mic, and be like, ‘I’m out of here’. Not available to me. I’ll leave fairly quietly because I’ll be back on the network in two weeks.” His departure was very sad news to SNL, even cast member Taran Killam agreed, saying Meyers leaving would be a “huge loss.”

As we previously reported, Edward Norton will make his SNL hosting debut October 26th.

So SNL fans, what will you do now that Seth is leaving. Will you continue to watch the show? Or will you drop Saturday Night Live and follow Seth to NBC’s Late Night?
