Take A First Look At Seth Meyers’ “The Awesomes”

I had the wicked opportunity of attending the 2014 FanExpo in Toronto, Canada this weekend and got a sneak peak at the pilot of a super cool new show that is set to premiere this fall on Teletoon.

What’s the show? Well, it’s called The Awesomes and was created by Saturday Night Live’s Seth Meyers with co-creator Mike Shoemaker of Hulu. It’s set to premiere on Thursday, September 4, 2014 at 9:30pm EST as apart of a 10-episode series for adults on Teletoon.

But Laura, what the hell is it about, you may ask? Well, lucky for you I got to watch a few episodes so I have the series synopsis pretty down.

For 60 years, The Awesomes have been America’s favourite super team. When founding hero Mr. Awesome retires, and all the strongest members quit the team, his son Prock (Professor Doctor Awesome) is left in charge. Can he rebuild The Awesomes and bring the family business back to its former glory while battling an onslaught of negative public opinion and the Evil Dr. Malocchio?

If you like Archer or Robot Chicken, you’re probably going to dig this comedy. It’s got some quick quips the kids won’t get and some sexual innuendos. Who doesn’t like those?

The rest of the cast is composed of SNL’s Bill Hader and Kenan Thompson, Rashida Jones, Taran Killam, Ike Barinholtz, Paula Pell, and Bobby Lee.
