Shameless, one of Showtime’s most popular series, has been trending in the news recently because of ongoing salary and contract negotiations for one of the series’ stars, Emmy Rossum.
It seems as though contracts may have been settled because the cast has been told that there will be an eighth season of the series. Earlier this afternoon, Rossum tweeted, “Playing Fiona Gallagher has been one of the great privileges of my life.” Her tweet also revealed that filming would begin this May!

The twins who share the role of Liam Gallagher confirmed (We’re assuming their mother runs the account.) that Shameless will return for Season 8, with filming to start in May 2017.
An official statement has yet to be released from Showtime, but other series cast members (with verified Instagram accounts) have liked this post, which announces the renewal of the series.
