Sharknado 5 Title And Cameos Revealed

The masterminds behind the Sharknado franchise just released the title of the fifth film as well as a list of celebrity cameos.

Is anyone surprised that the Sharknado franchise is coming out with another film. Announced back in February, the (in)famous series is making a triumphant return with chainsaws in hand, ready to kill some airborne sharks…and now, ladies and gentlemen, we have a name for this new installment: Sharknado 5: Global Swarming. The tagline for the film is “Make America Bait Again,” so you just know the film will be brimming with Trump jokes. Will he get eaten? We’ll just have to wait and see, but in the meantime the names of some celebrities making cameos in the film have been released, so you can look forward to watching a bite getting taken out of some of the following:

  • Fabio
  • Tony Hawk
  • Olivia Newton-John
  • Clay Aiken
  • Bret Michaels
  • Al Roker
  • Kathie Lee Gifford
  • Hoda Kotb

Better place your bets now on who will be eaten! Along with this celeb-filled menu for the sharks, the returning cast members include Cassie Screbo, Masiela Lusha and Cody Linley, as well as the two main leads Ian Ziering (as Fin Shepherd) and Tara Reid (as April Wexler). For this chapter in the saga, the plot will revolve around their young son, who is trapped in a travelling Sharknado that takes him all over the world, and the movie with him.

The summary on Variety reads “In Sharknado 5, with much of North America lying in ruins, the rest of the world braces for a global sharknado. Fin Shepard (Ziering) and his family must put a stop to this disaster before Earth is obliterated.”

Directed by Anthony C. Ferrante and produced by The Asylum, the Sharknado franchise is based on an original screenplay by Scotty Mullen. Sharknado 5: Global Swarming will air, in all of its glory, on Sunday, August 6 on Syfy.
