Sia’s New Track “Cheap Thrills” Brings A Fresh Sound

Sia’s new track “Cheap Thrills” brings a sound we’ve yet to hear from the pop sensation. Take a listen and see what you think of this fresh sound.

Rihanna may have made a big mistake passing on this track.

Sia premiered her new single on the 16th and it’s a fun song.  The title makes it seem like it will be more of a dance track but it’s almost a reggae based ballad.  Sia sings of not needing anything to have fun other than a dance floor.

She sings, “I don’t need no money as long as I can feel the beat.”  Sia will feature this song on her next album which features songs that didn’t go to other artists.  The album will be available on January 29th and is titled This Is Acting.

Here’s what Sia had to say about why she chose to record “Cheap Thrills” for herself:

There’s something really uplifting about it that put me in a good mood, and I would just pretend it wasn’t me singing. It felt very summer and fun, and I was like, ‘I’ll put that on there’.

So far with “Alive” and “Cheap Thrills,” this album is already sounding like a winner.  What do y’all think?  Would it have been better if Rihanna sang it, or do you think it really has a Sia vibe?  So far, do you like “Alive” or “Cheap Thrills” better?  Take a listen to the track below and choose for yourself!
