Back in March, gymnastic wunderkind Simone Biles visited the Ellen Show and admitted that she had the biggest crush on actor Zac Efron. She told Ellen that she had a life-sized cardboard cutout of Efron that she would occasionally kiss, and Ellen — being Ellen — then gifted Biles with a leotard that was completely covered in images of the actor.
This was the start of what would eventually become the cutest story out of the Rio Olympics.
Cut to August and the beginning of the adorable twitter exchanges between Biles and Efron, as Biles was competing for team gold in gymnastics. He started by tweeting about his admiration for the Final Five, which Biles then retweeted on her page:

During one of the many interviews Biles had with NBC in the midst of competition, the subject of her crush on Efron came up again. Today Show personality Hoda Kotb decided that she would work to make sure that the star gymnast got to meet her crush. The wheels started spinning, and Zac Efron was brought to Rio to surprise Biles (and the rest of the Final Five) with his presence. Biles’ reaction was priceless, and everyone in the room seemed to be over the moon to be exactly in that place at exactly that time.
Not knowing how to act (except overwhelmed), Biles’ fellow gymnast Laurie Hernandez immediately went up to Efron for a hug. Not long after that, Biles was able to compose herself enough to approach Efron to give him a hug. After much hugging and smiling — and, yes, screaming — Biles and Efron settled in to take a bunch of cute pictures together, which Biles immediately began tweeting on her own page:

Not long after Biles went gaga over her time with Efron, her “Brazilian Boyfriend” Arthur Nory sent out an Instagram photo regarding the whole situation, and he had words for Zac Efron:
Sounds like someone is having the best two weeks of her life! The medal count for Simone at the Rio Olympics finished at four gold and one bronze — and we can’t even be sure that those fabulous performances will be the things she remembers most about this experience.
The Rio Olympics officially ended on Sunday, but it may not be the last we see of Biles any time soon. There’s a rumor circulating that suggests she just may be on the shortlist to compete on Dancing with the Stars. The girl is just so darn cute and talented that she’s sure to be America’s “it” girl for a long time to come.
