Singer-songwriter Joni Mitchell was taken to a hospital via ambulance Tuesday, March 31. Paramedics responded to a 911 call from her home around 2:30 PM. Mitchell was reportedly unconscious during the time of the call but was responsive during the ride to the hospital.
The 71-year-old underwent an unknown surgical procedure shortly after her arrival and is currently recuperating in intensive care. Reps for Mitchell say she is “awake and in good spirits.”
The prolific multiple Grammy Award winning performer is best know for Folk and Rock hits in the late ’60s and ’70s including “Big Yellow Taxi”, “Chelsea Morning”, and “Woodstock”.
