Singer Keri Hilson is in hot water after tweeting out that people should thank National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) chapter president, Rachel Dolezal.
Dolezal has been in the middle of a media fire storm for allegedly posing as a person of color.
In her tweet she told her followers that “she’s [Dolezal] doing more than most do ourselves”.
Let's just all thank #RachelDolezal. Identity, pathological, & parental issues aside, she's doing more than most of us do for ourselves.

It is really weird tho. She took it pretty far with slave whips & what not. Levels. Deep. #RachaelDolezal

This did not sit well with a lot of people on twitter, and Hilson was roundly criticized at the social media site.
She was quick to explain her side and tweeted out that while she agrees that Dolezal has some issues, she urged everyone not to “knock her [Dolezal’s] intentions or discredit her efforts.”
Hilson then added that everything she had tweeted out was her personal opinion, and that people don’t have to agree or thank Dolezal.
I'm not sayin she doesn't have serious ISSUES, I'm just sayin don't knock her intentions or discredit her efforts. @NAACP stands by her work

Just my personal opinion. You don't need to agree. Or thank her. Lol.

She also made it clear that she was not defending Dolezal, only that she does not like to assume or pass judgement.
I don't defend her, I just don't like to assume or pass judgement on people's hearts. WE don't really know her motives. Only GOD.

Even though Keri Hilson claims she isn’t defending what Rachel Dolezal did, it kind of seems like is. What do you guys think?
