Sleepy Hollow Creator To Bring Us Dr Moreau!

He’s already tackled Ichabod Crane, but Phillip Iscove is ready for another literary figure.  CBS has given Iscove the project, entitled Moreau.  This show will be based on the novel by H.G. Wells called The Island of Dr Moreau.  The novel is about a doctor who practices vivisection to produce horrific human-animal hybrids.

One exciting thing about the new show is that Dr Moreau will be a woman! She will be portrayed as a genius doctor who has breakthrough after breakthrough in a privately-funded lab. Who knows what she will produce?! This show should prove to be both suspenseful and entertaining — though I may need to reread the book.

The book also follows the tale of a man who was shipwrecked on Dr Moreau’s island.  The CBS drama will film this show as if it takes place now.  I can’t wait to see who they cast as Dr Moreau, as she will need to be a strong female lead, and I wonder who will play the stranded man!
