Color me confused about tonight’s episode. At first glance, I thought it was a repeat as they were back in L.A. and Jesse Tyler Ferguson was back as a judge but I guess they needed to break up this city in two episodes. Let’s get down to it as our judges check out the talent back in the city of Lost Angels.

NICHOLAS “SLICK” STEWART, 26

Slick’s style is a mix of bone-breaking, hat tricks, slides, and animation (lets out a big sigh; kinda over this). With his routine, he leaves the judges wondering if he’s okay as he looks like he is breaking his bones to dance. Honestly, I was wincing the entire time watching him. Eww! Luckily for him, the judges were impressed and they ship him to choreo to see what he can do.

ALEX KESSINGER, 18

Foster-child turned Miss Dance America winner Alex is up to wow the judges. And she sure does with a contemporary routine that leaves them breathless. I’m impressed and the judges were too. It’s straight to Vegas for her!

SEBASTIAN SERRA, 23

A member of the Orlando ballet, Sebastian exudes energy as he proves to the judges that he is a “Puerto Rican jumping bean” as Jesse comically puts it. The judges make fun of his bright ass shorts, a seriously throwback to the early 90s. Nigel, being his comical self send Sebastian straight to Vegas as long as Sebastian promises to never wear those shorts again (he trashes them naturally).

MARIIA LEBEDEVA & MISHA SMAGIN, 25 & 23

This super sexy duo of ballroom dancers who made it know they are not FWBs  heat up the stage with a performance that has Mary woo-wooing Mariia right onto the Hot Tamale Train (here we go!). The other judges love them as well, with Maria being the standout for them and send the pair straight to Vegas!

EMILIO “MILLIE” DOSAL, 22

You may know his roommate, Phillip Chbeeb, whom apparently inspired this dancer to give it a go. Emilio’s popping and his animation both prove to be good enough for another look as the judges send him to choreo.

MAKENZIE DUSTMAN, 18

Makenzie takes the stage while mom and dad look on.  Makenzie definitely brings her contemporary A-game. Nigel commends her remarkable technique, and Mary and Jesse agree that she is so So You Think You Can Dance. Off to Vegas, she goes!!

Time for choreography! Emilio and Slick are both put to the test, but only Emilio makes it through to Vegas, along with eight other dancers as the show heads off to Austin where Minnie Driver joins the judges!

ANTHONY, 4

A time waster if the show ever had one as this little guy is only 4 years old. He’s a cutie but really a waste of time to watch for this viewer. Can we bring on the real dancers, please? Nigel and company indulge him for being inspired to dance and send him to Disney World!

HAYLEY ERBERT, 18

Hayley hits the stage for a contemporary routine that is very tasteful and never makes me cringe. The judges agree. Mary compliments her beautiful feet, and Nigel loves her technique. When he goes to say yes to choreography, Minnie quickly interrupts him, “Don’t be ridiculous!” I’m with her and it’s straight to Vegas for the dancer!

DONOVAN GIBBS, 18

This contemporary dancer gives the most passionate audition of the night and bringing a “fire” to the stage in my opinion. The judges are torn for a bit but Mary casts the deciding vote and it’s off to Vegas for this dancer!

DANNON O’BRIEN, 20

A dancer with a passion for doing makeup, Dannon’s creativity transfers to his audition, and Nigel is captivated (as was I). Mary commends Dannon on being engaging, and Minnie thinks he’s “clearly meant to do that forever.” They all decide to send him to Vegas!

SHANE GARCIA, 20

As a 20 year-old with a speech impediment (poor thing), Shane finds a new way to communicate — through dance. Shane really starts talking, I mean moving,  with a bit of (Not again!) bone-breaking and some foot work that brings both Mary and Minnie to tears. Everyone agrees that Shane is a beautiful artist, and now everyone’s crying, just not enough to send the dancer straight to Vegas. It’s off to choreo!

DANIELA BUSTILLOS, 21

Daniela takes the stage to perform a contemporary piece that shows her potential. Mary thinks she needs work in her transitions, but everyone agrees that she has a beautiful start. They want to see more of her, as do I, so it’s off to choreo for the mamacita!

NICK MUCKLEROY, 21

Nick gives me a lot of Brandon Bryant feels (if you all remember his amazing dancing), with his incredible control and amazing acrobatics. Minnie admits that she’s a fan as am I. You know you’re good when you get the judges to do a synchronized hand motion three times in a row (get it, boy). Welcome to Vegas, Nick!

HAMPTON “EXORCIST” WILLIAMS, 22 + FAMILY

He’s baaack! And this time, he brought friends — family, his wife, who is also auditioning. Talented people who bring their daughter on the stage to help them out. With three judges on their feet, this cute family sends all three family members straight to Vegas (only two of them as actual contestants, of course).
Back in choreography, Shane and Daniela join nine additional dancers on their way to Vegas!

Join me next week as the show goes to Beantown to find dancers!
