The latest edition of The Sun has enthusiastically reported that The Spice Girls (Emma Bunton, Melanie B, Melanie C, and Geri Halliwell) are planning a reunion tour in 2016 (sans Victoria Beckham) to parallel the 20th anniversary of their smash-hit debut single “Wannabe.” Beckham’s lack of participation in the rumored tour comes from Beckham supposedly insisting she’s way too busy to go on tour.
When were these tour plans made exactly? According to The Sun, the four members of The Spice Girls, obviously minus Beckham, made the plans in secret last month in London. All of The Sun’s statements come from an “insider source” whose stated the girls are eager to reunite. Despite the girls’ willingness for a comeback tour, the news floating around about this tour is a surprise to them as well as the fans. Rumors have run rampant almost every year, bringing false hope to fans and spectators alike; this time seems no different, although Melanie C. denied any plans of a tour months before their reunion tour announcement back in 2007.
Emma Bunton and Melanie C. took to Twitter to joke about their upcoming reunion tour plans:
Woke up this morning wondering whether I need to start practising my backflips???!!! 😳
