#SPNPHX Spotlight: Misha Collins Panel

In this #SPNPHX spotlight, we take a look at some highlights of the Misha Collins Panel from the Phoenix Supernatural Convention.

We ended the Phoenix Supernatural Convention day on Saturday with a great panel from the one and only Misha Collins!

Misha plays the angel Castiel on the show, who was introduced to Supernatural fans in season four. Cass was responsible for saving Dean Winchester from hell and has been with the brothers ever since. Since then Cas has had his ups and downs on the show, but he’s always there for the Winchester brothers when needed.

Panel Highlights:

Misha, Jensen, and Jared’s Friendship

During the panel a fan asked Misha if his friendship with Jensen and Jared on-screen is the same off-screen. Misha jokes about pies being thrown in his face and that he hangs outside the boys’ condo buildings, but all jokes aside, Misha does tell the fans that their friendship is one of the reasons he believes that the show is a success. “They set a great tone on set where everyone feels like it’s a fun place to come to work. But, outside of that we’ve become friends.”

Misha Gets Sentimental

Misha gets really sentimental on something that he has never told fans before. He is someone that writes down his goals every year. Right before he booked Supernatural he wrote down goals that he would become a series regular, on a series that he was proud of, and that he would like to form long lasting friendships with his cast-mates.  He admits that it was a strange goal to have, but it totally came true. He ended by saying he hopes he never says anything that sentimental ever again, and that if anyone was posting it to YouTube to cut that part out.

Misha Collins Takes Questions from StageIt

Misha was kind enough to take some questions from the fans watching from Stageit. One question that was asked was “What is the most fun you’ve had on set?” Misha jokes once again by saying, “trying to think if we’ve ever had fun.” Misha has said that there have been many takes that have been ruined due to laughing and saying inappropriate things.  He finally went into an instance in where Jared and Jensen were just messing with him while he was trying to film on camera. It got to the point where production traveled 25 minutes to see this all unfold. He said it was the most fun/not fun moment.

Castiel Has Changed His Career

“Castiel has made my career.” Misha went into depth about his goal about becoming a series regular, and mentioned that he wanted to have the opportunity to work on one character for a long time to get comfortable with a character that it became refelective. “I am super lucky to be able to play something for this long to the extent that I feel like I really know this guy like he’s a part of me. He’s weird kinda like me.”

The panel was full of entertainment and fun from Misha. This was one of the most fun panels we attended all day. Make sure you check out Misha on Twitter and don’t forget to keep up with Creation Entertainment on Twitter for all your Supernatural Convention news.
