Staff Writer

Falling just slightly short of its prequel’s earnings of $86.7 million, Star Trek Into Darkness comes in at $84.1 million, falling short of Paramount Pictures’ initial expectation of $100 million. With an original budget of $190 million, total global sales total up to $164.6 million with its Friday to Sunday revenue coming in at $70.6 million.

While these numbers are still successful in nature, it is no contender to Iron Man, which has hit one billion dollars globally as well as $337.1 million domestically as of this week and overshadowed its fellow films. Thanks to the massive increase in profit, Iron Man 3 has made it as the 25th highest grossing domestic film of all time.
