‘Star Trek II: The Wrath Of Khan’ Director’s Cut Returning To Theaters For 35th Anniversary

Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan Director’s Cut and 35th Anniversary blasts back into theaters from Fathom Events this September!

“Warp speed, Mr. Sulu!”

Attention all Star Trek fans, all science-fiction fans, and all movie fans, have you got your phasers ready? Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (1982), the Director’s Cut, is returning to select theaters next month to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the film! Now doesn’t that have all the Trekkies “beaming” from ear to ear! The original film from the mind of creator Gene Roddenberry was released on June 4, 1982, and was revolutionary in its advancement of visual effects. Khan, aka Khan Noonien Singh, portrayed venomously by Ricardo Montalban, reprised his villainous role here from the original Star Trek (1966-69) series episode “Space Seed,” Season 1, Episode 22, his first appearance to audiences on February 16, 1967.

Brought to you by Fathom Events, this re-release of the iconic and maybe most highly regarded Star Trek film will feature the one and only William Shatner in a special introductory interview featurette before the film, about the anniversary and making of Khan, with Scott Mantz of Access Hollywood, one of the biggest Star Trek fans and aficionados in the business and in the world. And of course, being the Director’s Cut, it will run approximately seventeen minutes longer than the original film (2 hours and 10 minutes in length). What’s not to get excited about?

Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan is rated PG and stars William Shatner as Admiral James T. Kirk, Leonard Nimoy as Captain Spock, and Ricardo Montalban as Khan Noonien Singh. The film also stars DeForest Kelley, James Doohan, Walter Koenig, George Takei, Nichelle Nichols, Bibi Besch, Merritt Butrick, and Kirstie Alley, and comes to select theaters on September 10, 2017 and September 13, 2017 only.
