If you thought the Plastics from Mean Girls were harsh, can you imagine what a group of moms would be like? Well, you may not have to anymore.
New Line Cinema has asked longtime Saturday Night Live director, Beth McCarthy-Miller, to adapt the book Queen Bee Moms & King Pin Dads: Dealing with the Parents, Teachers, Coaches, and Counselors Who Can Make—or Break—Your Child’s Future – Your Child’s Future.
This book is the sophomore title from author Rosalind Wiseman who was the writer for Queen Bees and Wannabes – the inspiration for the 2004 sensation Mean Girls.
While this movie is being associated with Mean Girls, mostly due to the fact that the author is the same, this is in no way a squeal.
The film version of this book will focus on a mother who encounters some mean girls who are all grown up – mean moms. Deadline reports that the producer of the film will be Jill Messick with Offspring Entertainment. Messick also served as producer on films such as She’s All That, Baby Mama and of course, Mean Girls.
No word yet on who, if anyone at this point, is being considered for the roles of the mean moms. With the amount of amazing women in Hollywood, I’m sure the task is no easy feat!
