HBO’s True Blood is about to take its last bite out of TV land as they approach their final season next summer, and Stephen Moyer is all but prepared for the series to end.

Moyer explained his sentiments about directing an episode and a few of his final fantasies for the seventh and final season of True Blood in an interview with The Huffington Post.

To kick off the season, Moyer will be directing the first episode, but he claims he still knows little about what will really be going on. “I don’t know anything and I’m directing the first episode,” he explained. “I haven’t gotten a script yet and we start shooting in January.”

He went on to explain how working on the final season is bittersweet for him “I’m really excited, really sad,” he said “It’s just a group of people that I absolutely love and it’s certainly the happiest and warmest set I’ve ever been on, so that’s going to be hard to walk away from.”

The True Blood producers must like to keep their actors guessing; because in addition to knowing little about next season, Moyer claims he hardly knew his character Bill would develop to be a good guy. Despite not having known how his character would end up, he commented “I thought it was great for the show. I’m a really strong believer in doing what’s best for the show and if that means being a sh*t then that’s fine.”

On the subject of his character Bill, Moyer addressed the possibility of any reconciliation between Bill and Sookie. He calls it unlikely, given the circumstances. “The first mistakes he made at the beginning of the relationship were definitely mistakes that were trying to protect her,” he explained. “It’s not anything he was doing that was necessarily bad…  I think that he will always be and always was a key for Sookie to unlocking her womanhood and who she became and who she is and who she was. She won’t forget that part of him.”

As far a return for Eric, Moyer knows just as much as any of the fans do. Though, he did reveal a fantasy of his if Eric were to return. “Alex (Skarsgard) and I have been pushing for an Eric-Bill love scene for a long time, but they always said no. But our dream would be for my football team, West Ham United, to play his Swedish team, and would end up in some match-up that Bill and Eric happen to be able to get to.”

With all that activity between Eric and Bill, Moyer cleverly joked “I’m sure Sookie would find a way to be part of the action. She usually does.”

True Blood will return for its final season on HBO in summer 2014.
