Steve Martin may very well be the funniest man to ever live – he certainly has enough awards and to back up his claim.
Martin has been given several honors, including an Honorary Academy Award and a Kennedy Center Honor. Now he is set to add another honor to his trophy shelf, as today the American Film Institute announced Martin will be receiving their prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award.
The AFI gives out their Lifetime Achievement Award annually in a lavish ceremony that celebrates the life and careers of some of the most important figures in cinema. The last few recipients include Morgan Freeman, Jane Fonda and Mel Brooks.
The event will be broadcast on TNT next year, on the 4th of June.
