Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup are back to save the city of Townsville!
Do you remember the original cartoon network staple Powerpuff Girls? the series ran for 78 episodes through 1998-2004. The series introduced us to three young girls created by sugar, spice, everything nice, and oh yeah..chemical X. The girls used their powers to save the world on a regular basis while still making it back in time for dinner.
Fans absolutely adored the series and ever since it ended, people have maintained hope that one day the Powerpuff Girls would return to television to remind the new generation of what fun and entertaining programming is.
Last year, news of the reboot broke, and a special was created with new animation (I’m not sold on it, sorry). “As the original ambassador of ‘girl power’, the Powerpuff Girls brand continues to resonate with people of all ages,” Pete Yoder, VP of consumer products for North America, Cartoon Network Enterprises explained.
How exciting that today’s children will get to experience the girl power cartoon that was loved by so many. While it’s great the girls are back, is it too much to ask that they go back to the original animation? Please?
