Suicide Squad Releases Epic New Trailer

New Suicide Squad Trailer premieres at MTV Movie Awards. Watch it here!

Yesterday at the 2016 MTV Movie Awards, Will Smith, Jared Leto, Margot Robbie and Cara Delevingne presented a new clip from their much anticipated movie Suicide Squad.

An extended version of the televised clip shows new characters, including a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it appearance by Ben Affleck’s Batman. Check it out right here:

So cool, right? The trailer, set to a memorable “You Don’t Own Me” and the energetic “The Ballroom Blitz”, shows the anti-heroes released from prison and then working side-by-side to succeed in their mission.

Suicide Squad is the story of a group of super-villains recruited to take part on a dangerous black ops mission in exchange for their freedom. Once out of prison, the squad figures out they were chosen because if they fail, U.S. intelligence will have no issues blaming them for the fiasco, plus basically they’d be dead so it wouldn’t be much of a problem for the government. With this menacing realization they decide to do their best to complete the mission, even if it means having to start working together and trusting one another.

Will Smith is Deadshot, Oscar winner Jared Leto plays a disturbing but thrilling Joker, Margot Robbie is former psychiatrist gone crazy Harley Quinn, and Enchantress is portrayed by model-actress-singer Cara Delevingne.

How to Get Away with Murder’s exceptional lead Viola Davis, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Joel Kinnaman and The Mindy Project’s writer and scene-stealer Ike Barinholtz, also star in the DC Comics-based future summer blockbuster.

David Ayer – who wrote the screenplay of Training Day and the original The Fast and The Furious – is taking on double duty as writer and director of Suicide Squad.

A sequel has already been announced and will start production in 2017.

Suicide Squad will hit theaters on August 5.

New sneak peeks of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and from Captain America: Civil War were also shown in the fun awards show. Be sure to catch them too.
