When Apple held their big conference a few months ago where they announced the headphone jack-less iPhone 7, they also announced an upcoming app: Super Mario Run.
Apple and Nintendo have joined forces to release an app that many will love. Mario is Nintendo’s most iconic character, and he gets a game on every Nintendo platform, so it’s about time he hits the mobile market. Kids these days don’t want GameBoys and Nintendo DSs like they did a decade ago. They want iPhones and iPads now, so I think it is a really smart move for Nintendo to move into that stream through the biggest tech company around. Sucks for Android users though; so far, Super Mario Run is iOS exclusive.
This app’s selling point, aside from it being a mobile Mario game, is that you can play it with one hand.
So when is this app coming out? December 15th is the set date, but, if you go to the app store now and search for the game, you can sign up for a reminder for when it’s available to download.
Going to over 150 countries, this app will be available free — but only for a small portion of the game. To unlock the full version, it’ll cost $9.99 American. And really, that price is pretty reasonable considering most new Mario games for various Nintendo platforms are somewhere between $40-60.

Doesn’t this just trigger the nostalgia? Classic Mario games will never get old. We’ll always want to collect coins and stomp Goombas and save Princess Peach.
With Pokémon Go‘s huge success earlier this year, Super Mario Run will surely meet — and perhaps exceed — its popularity. Everyone loves Mario.
Are you looking forward to this app? Will you be purchasing the full version?
