It looks like Supergirl star Melissa Benoist has filed for divorce from actor Blake Jenner after four years together.

Benoist and Jenner were engaged in 2015 and have no children together. They met on the set of Glee, where they played on-screen love birds. At the time, Jenner gave credit to the musical show for introducing the two of them, speculating how they would have turned out had they not shared screen time together. It gave them time to get to know each other.

After what Jenner described as a “low-key” and private engagement, which involved him singing his proposal, the two managed to work closely together — not only on Glee but on the hit show Supergirl, where Jenner guest starred earlier this year. At the time, Benoist was very excited about once again working with her husband:

“I love working with him. We only have fun working together. He’s my person to act with. He’s my favorite scene partner, always.”

However, it looks like the romance has fizzled out, as Benoist cites irreconcilable differences with the Edge of Seventeen star. The actress will also be changing her legal name back to Melissa Benoist.

In terms of her personal life, it looks like Supergirl really changed things for Benoist, who revealed in an interview with in an interview with People Magazine that she now feel stronger and more self aware after taking on the role:

“On the outside, it hasn’t really changed quite so much. I go to work and I have my day-to-day thing. But I feel like I’ve personally changed. This has taught me so much about strength and has made me just discover how strong I can be in certain situations and I realized I can do some pretty hard things.”
