Supergirl might not begin airing until the end of October, but lead actor Melissa Benoist is already inspiring legions of fans, including a group of girl scouts from Oklahoma. The four girls were dressed in Supergirl costumes, and were given a tour of the set by Benoist, who also donned her costume. She snapped a couple adorable pictures of the “Super Girl Scouts of Oklahoma”, and posted them to her Instagram feed.

Benoist is known for her role as Marley Rose on Glee and was cast as the title character in the CBS show earlier this year. She acknowledges there will be a lot of pressure, but says the benefits outweigh any potential drawbacks.
I’m so grateful that I get to be in this position, playing someone people will look up to. Hopefully I’ll help people escape from things they’re afraid of or be able to face the things they’re afraid of.
Benoist hopes her role will “inspire people in general to realize their strengths and their potential”. If the excited looks on the faces of the Girl Scouts are any indication, Benoist is well on her way.
