Taylor Swift kissed her long standing role as America’s sweetheart goodbye today with the release of the music video “Blank Space”. The videos release came without any warning and is essentially the exact opposite of her 2009 smash hit “Love Story”.
Taylor announced the videos release by posting the the video to her Facebook page.
Upon the release of her new, entirely pop driven, album 1989 a few weeks ago, “Blank Space” quickly became a favorite for fans and critics alike. Lyrically, the track pokes fun at the image of Taylor that is often portrayed in the media; The serial monogamist who is always two steps away from becoming someones crazy ex-girlfriend. Melodically, “Blank Space” is uptempo but just gritty enough to generate some good ole’fashion young adult angst.
Basically, what I’m trying to say is, the song is p-e-r-f-e-c-t… And with the help of legendary music video director Joseph Khan AND an extremely good looking male model, Sean O’Pry, the video is everything we wanted it to be.

We think Taylor nailed her “psyscho girlfriend” persona.
