It’s hard to believe it’s already time to reveal the Top 12 on SYTYCD!

This week, some new faces graced the bottom 6; Curtis, Alan and Mackenzie were back in the danger zone, this time joined again by Alexis, Nico, and frontrunner Jasmine Harper. Mackenzie was saved on the spot, which left Alexis and Jasmine to battle it out with solos.

When the dancing finally began, Jenna and Tucker were once again doing hip-hop. While they weren’t exactly “killing it in the club” the leather clad duo gave it their best shot and the judges agreed they had done their best. Luckily for Jenna, she wasn’t in the bottom 3 girls this week, so she should be able to breathe easier.

Alexis and Nico got a crazy Sonya Tayeh routine – not that she’s crazy per se, although we all know she’s had her moments. The break-up inspired dance was done very well, and it seemed they captured the “feel” Sonya was pushing for. Guest judge Anna Kendrick said it best, “You built tension with frantic movement,” she told the pair. “Then when you just had to look at each other, I felt like I couldn’t breathe.”

Next up was Hayley, who was obviously not dancing with Curtis: her “sushi-date” partner was out with an injury (hmm, wonder who’s going home) so Haley was paired with the co-choreographer of her Tango, Leonardo. Hayley was stunning and having the season’s professional at her side made it all the more beautiful to watch.

Sonya started Paul and Mackenzie’s rehearsal with a request to strip, well just Paul’s shirt, but still. The jazz routine was high in energy and minimal in apparel. “Mackenzie, you were so powerful in this. In some of the other dances, you’ve been given the ‘beautiful’ character and you’re

so

pretty. But in this, the power wasn’t coming from your beauty. It was coming from your ability,” Anna commented. Paul continues to show us he’s a seasoned pro at all this SYTYCD stuff; the Armenian winner could be the black horse in this competition!

Jasmine, who strangely found herself in the bottom this week, took on a contemporary routine with Aaron and, of course, they killed it once again. Mary was concerned about their apple prop, but all the judges enjoyed the dance and I have a feeling Jasmine will be sticking around. Aaron, who was a wildcard in this competition and got brought in last minute, has been a force to be reckoned with!

Amy and Fik-shun; hip-hop; amazing…and there’s really nothing more that needs to be said.

Malece and Alan got a salsa choreographed by SYTYCD alum, Jonathan Platero. The sizzling number was super fun and super hot; it was evident that this was not an easy task, but the couple nailed it and it was so entertaining to watch. Anna Kendrick continued to be a much more entertaining and relevant a judge than last week’s guest, “I don’t always get ballroom, but that just made me wanna take lessons, and have an affair on a tropical island. Well, maybe just the second part.” Hot!

Now it was time to get down to the nitty gritty. It should be no surprise that Curtis was eliminated, due to an injury and the inability to dance. It was a bad night in general for tappers, as Alexis was also sent home.

If you didn’t get enough of Anna, check out her critique’s of all the dancers and see if you agree!
