While fans have been counting down the days and being spoiled with the media blitz that HBO has put on lately for Game of Thrones, George RR Martin has been slaving away on his new book The Winds of Winter. Today he was kind enough to release a chapter of the upcoming novel, which is the sixth in the series. But once again, fans are left with a taste of whats to come but there is no book release date.
The chapter is titled “Mercy,” which is told from the point of view of a character who identifies as Mercy. Let the speculation begin!! But Martin says the chapter isn’t new…to his editors. He went on to state, “It’s new in that it is material that no one but my editors…have ever seen before, but it’s old in that it was written a long time ago.”
This new snippet of the book is the third peek behind the scenes of The Winds of Winter on his website, but he has also readied other chapters from that book for some very lucky audiences.
