Taylor Swift Talks Friendship, Marriage And Calvin Harris In Candid Interview

Taylor Swift returned to her hometown for the wedding of two of her oldest friends, and spoke with Vogue about the nature of love and friendship.

Taylor Swift is known for breaking records, selling out stadiums, and churning out hit after hit.

Some have attributed her success to being savvy and calculating -being able to manipulate her image to sell more records and garner publicity.

Her infamous “squad” is considered a part of this publicity machine, and although her love life is thought of as authentic, detractors have often pointed to her inability to maintain a lengthy relationship.

Rumors and gossip are of course a part of being a celebrity especially for someone who has her level of fame. So in a recent interview with Vouge for its April issue, Swift allowed the magazine to trail her as she went to visit her former hometown, and attend the wedding of her two oldest friends, in which she served as the Maid of Honor.

Swift of course is well known for sharing tidbits of her life on social media, But being actually followed by people who work for a publication as you go about personal moments in your life, with people who have known you long before you were famous, is a whole different ball game.

And of course with her being in a wedding, Swift was asked what her thoughts on marriage is, and what are her future plans with boyfriend Calvin Harris.

“I’m just taking things as they come,” Swift said “I’m in a magical relationship right now. And of course I want it to be ours, and low-key . . . this is the one thing that’s been mine about my personal life.”

Which is probably her own polite way of saying -back off, it’s personal. But then again her steady relationship with Harris has kept detractors off her dating life. So instead they have focused on her group of celebrity friends, who have been accused of being phony and manufactured, so to that Swift answers:

I’ve had people say really hurtful things about me, and so I’ve kind of learned how to gauge it: ‘This is, like, low-to-medium-level hurtful.’

“There are a lot of really easy ways to dispel rumors. If they say you are pregnant, all you have to do is continue to not be pregnant and not have a baby. If the rumor is that you have fake friendships, all you have to do is continue to be there for each other. And when we’re all friends in fifteen years and raising our kids together, maybe somebody will look back and go, ‘That was kind of ridiculous what we said about Taylor and her friends.’ ” she explains.
