Swift’s now-infamous VMA “diss” might not be such a diss.
At the VMAs last week, Swift was recorded mouthing what looked like “Shut the f*ck up” to Selena. In context of the recording, it looked like a diss towards her ex, Harry Styles.
However, Taylor’s good friend Ed Sheeran recently revealed new information regarding the supposed diss, which had come as a shock to fans.
At a press conference shortly after the VMA’s, Sheeran revealed that Swift’s snarky remark caught on camera was not aimed towards singer Harry Styles. Apparently right before the camera turned on Gomez and Swift, Selena whispered to Taylor that she thought Miley Cyrus was going to win the award for Best Pop Video. Swift told Gomez to “Shut the f*ck up,” as a friendly reminder that Swift believes in her bff. Gomez then went on to win the award.
Sheeran also mentioned that after the VMAs Swift came up to him and said, “I think I messed up” when realizing her words would probably be misinterpreted by the media.
