Though it is still a few months away, MTV’s sixth season of Teen Wolf will be heading into uncharted waters by exploring who Scott McCall is without a girlfriend. That’s right, Beacon Hills’ resident Alpha Wolf will be going through some growing pains this season by exploring what it means to be a single teenage werewolf. At the end of Season 5, we saw Scott’s current girlfriend and supernatural Kitsune, Kira, separate from Scott and the pack, down a desert road with nothing but her sword and sweet smile to keep her company on her journey to control the fox within her.
With Kira and her erratic fox powers gone, a whole new avenue of which to explore Posey’s character as a single guy opens up. Since the show started back in 2010, Scott has always been romantically entangled with one of the other main characters. Whether it was his electric and innocent love with Kira or his more notable and tragic love with Allison (RIP), the point stands that the Alpha has never been much of a lone wolf.
Now that all stands to change, as the sixth season will find Scott focusing on himself and on the other relationships within his pack, as they gear up to face yet another supernatural crisis in the little town of Beacon Hills. The idea to explore Scott McCall being single as opposed to a boy in love is one welcomed by Tyler Posey who portrays the character and has always wanted to explore what it meant if Scott was indeed single, and how that would help strengthen his character. When speaking with MTV, Posey was quoted with saying, “I thought it was something that every person has to go through in their life — grow on their own and really figure out who they are. That’s kind of what’s going on with Scott.”
While Scott will be single and working on himself, season six will pick up right after the events of season five which not only include Kitsune Kira’s exit, but also Hayden’s newfound identity as a young werewolf and Stiles’ decision to follow in his father’s footsteps by starting his career in law enforcement.
