To celebrate the release of Star Trek Into Darkness, TV and Movie streaming service Blinkbox, teamed up with illusionist Scott Penrose to set up the “world’s first teleporter” at London’s Westfield Shopping Centre.
Volunteers were chosen from the crowd and disappeared into a tall, clear-door box, only to reappear moments later elsewhere within the shopping centre looking astonished and in full view of the onlooking crowd.

Sadly, neither Blinkbox or Penrose have quite mastered the art of teleportation yet, but rather duped everybody into thinking they had.
The ‘volunteers’ as they were, had been chosen before hand, and all had identical twins that aided the illusionist into making us think that the person that went into the box, had indeed been teleported.
Regardless of the trickery, it has certainly stirred up interest for the twelfth installment of the Star Trek franchise.
Star Trek Into Darkness takes place one year after 2009’s, Star Trek, with Kirk and the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise sent to the Klingon homeworld seeking former Starfleet member-turned-terrorist, John Harrison.
Starring Chris Pine as James T. Kirk, Zachary Quinto as Spock and Benedict Cumberbatch as Khan, the film was directed by J.J. Abrams and is available now on Blinkbox.
