Tennis Star and World no . 17 Fabio Fognini was not too happy losing out to Chinese wildcard Wang Chuhan at the Shanghai masters in China last Tuesday. As he was leaving after his 7-6 (5), 6-4 loss, he showed his middle finger to the crowd.
In addition, he also shoved Wang after they shook hands at the net. Authorities were not too impressed, and they slapped him with a $2,000 fine for the obscene gesture.
This is nothing new for the Italian, though, since he has a history of being fined for bad behavior in the court. Earlier this year, he received $27,500 worth of fines for “visible obscenity” and unsportsmanlike behavior in Wimbledon during his first round match.
He really should keep that temper in check.
