There is nothing quite like theatre, and when some of today’s most well-known stars appear on the stage, it is something magical. There seems to be no better all-star cast than the recently announced upcoming cast of the revival of Terrence McNally’s production, It’s Only A Play.
Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick, who starred in the critically acclaimed and now iconic musical, The Producers, will lead the cast. Joining them are two-time Emmy-winner Megan Mullally (who recently co-starred with Lane in Guys and Dolls), Stockard Channing, and Academy Award-winner F. Murray Abraham.
The play concerns a group of theatre folk waiting anxiously for the reviews of their opening night play. Broderick will take centre stage as the playwright, with Lane as his best friend. Mullally will star as the producer of the play, with Channing portraying the diva-esque lead actress, and Abraham playing the cynical theatre critic.
The play will premiere on October 9th, and will hopefully receive great reviews and have a place at the 69th Tony Awards next year.
