The film adaption of Mark Zusack’s haunting novel The Book Thief has begun filming at Studio Babelsberg in Germany.
The Book Thief is about a young girl named Lisel living in Nazi occupied Germany during WWII. Told from the perspective of Death, Lisel finds solace by stealing books and sharing them with others. All of this happens while her foster parents hide a Jewish refugee under the stairs.
This film will star Geoffrey Rush, Emily Watson and will introduce actress Sophie Nelisee. It will be directed by Brian Percival.
