‘The Flash’ Episode 2 Synopsis Debuts New Characters

The synopsis for the second episode of ‘The Flash’s’ second season has been released, introducing new characters, new worlds, and new villains.

The synopsis for the second episode of The Flash‘s second season featuring new characters, and new concepts, has been released. The episode is entitled “Flash of Two Worlds” and is currently scheduled to air on October 13, 2015.

Comic book fans may recognize the episode’s title from issue #123 of The Flash comic book series. This issue, penned by Gardner Fox with art from Carmine Infantino and Joe Giella, introduced the concept of a multiverse to DC Comics. In the comic, Barry finds himself on a different Earth in a parallel universe. He finds that his fictional, childhood hero, Jay Garrick, exists on this Earth, and had retired from heroics a number of years earlier. The CW show is using the episode to explore the idea of a multiverse, but in a slightly different way. Their official synopsis says:

INTRODUCING JAY GARRICK – Jay Garrick (guest star Teddy Sears), a mysterious man from Earth-2, appears at S.T.A.R. Labs with a dire warning about an evil speedster named Zoom, who is set on destroying The Flash. Barry (Grant Gustin) and the team must decide if they can trust this stranger even as they face yet another powerful meta-human. Meanwhile, Joe (Jessie L. Martin) must deal with a determined officer named Patty Spivot (guest star Shantal VanSanten) who wants to join his meta-human task force. Jesse Warn directed the episode written by Aaron Helbing and Todd Helbing.

Patty Spivot is another new character making her debut this season as a police officer with a keen interest in meta-humans. Spivot will partner with Detective Joe West, who will “complicate Barry Allen’s love life in Season 2”.

The CW released another TV spot for the upcoming second season, featuring some behind-the-scenes footage, and previously unseen shots from the first few episodes.

Are you excited for The Flash to make its return? Do you miss Cisco as much as we do? Season two of The Flash begins on October 6 at 8:00 p.m. on The CW.
