While we still have almost a year and half left before we close the door on The Hobbit trilogy, production on the films has now officially ended and to celebrate, director, Peter Jackson had a special treat for fans.
Throughout production of this latest Tolkien trilogy, Jackson has kept fans up-to-date through his official Facebook page. It was only fitting then that at the end of production for The Hobbit, he shared with fans a series of behind-the-scenes photos.
The pictures show the cast and crew on set last Friday (26 July) for the final day of filming in New Zealand.

The second instalment, The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, is in cinemas in the UK and US on December 13th, with the final film The Hobbit: There and Back Again on our screens in 2014.
