Remember in December of 2012 when The IT Crowd creator Graham Linehan informed us that he would love to bring back the sitcom for a one-off special? Well, it’s finally happening! In fact, we can expect to see our favourite ragtag team of IT nerds, Roy and Moss, played by Chris O’Dowd and Richard Ayoade, by the end of September 2013 (that’s this month!).
Also returning for the one-off final episode is the somewhat IT-illiterate, although administratively savvy, department-head Jen, played by Katherine Parkinson. Matt Berry will also reprise his role as one of the most inappropriate and incompetent bosses ever, Douglas Reynholm.
There hasn’t been any mention of Noel Fielding coming back as the reclusive Goth, Richmond, who had returned in the last episode of series 4, once again a successful businessman. But beggars can’t be choosers.
Although only returning for a one-hour (40-45 minutes when you factor in ads) episode, it will be worth it to see how the series will properly end. You should really go check out the series, it’s hilarious. Because IT doesn’t just stand for Information Technology, it stands for commitment, audacity and courage in the face of adversity.
