This past Friday the only surviving female munchkin from The Wizard of Oz passed away.
Ruth Robinson Duccini was 95 when she passed away from natural causes in her Las Vegas home.
Ruth was 20 years old when she followed the yellow brick road as one of the Munchkinville townswomen. She worked as a “Rosie the riveter” during WWII and appears with Chevy Chase and Carrie Fisher in Under the Rainbow.
Ruth’s death means there is only one living munchkin; 93 year-old Jerry Maren of Los Angeles who played one of the members of the Lollipop Guild.
