Doctor Who fans were given a treat over the weekend when a minisode, featuring The Doctor and River, was leaked.
The minisode, which is credited as being written by Steven Moffat, was written instead by Neil Gaiman who discussed the piece on his tumblr account
For the puzzled and curious. The lost Planet of the Rain Gods sequence from THE DOCTOR’S WIFE, which was drawn by Mark Buckingham as a comic featuring the Doctor and Amy and Rory in the 2012 Doctor Who Brilliant Book, was then rewritten by me as a Doctor/River minisode for the DVD, and then that script was filmed more or less given some limitations of time and budget, does now sort of exist.
The minisode shows River and the Doctor arguing about an escape plan to evade being sacrificed to the Rain Gods.
According to io9, the minisode, which shows the Doctor and River being sacrificed to the Rain Gods, will appear on the season 7 box set.
