To me, The Maine’s Forever Halloween LP could very well be my favorite album of 2013.
The band, comprised of John O’Callaghan, Kennedy Brock, Jared Monaco, Garrett Nickelsen, and Pat Kirch, arguably came into their own on their fourth full-length, fully realizing the pure rock sound that they began developing in Pioneer. It was a blazing, fun-filled effort full of satisfying grit and witty irony, producing for the band three singles that were more or less modern-day hits of their genre: Happy, Love and Drugs, and These Four Words.
Now, the band is working on promoting their fourth single from the album, Run. In the music video associated with the track that was just released last Monday (August 11) on their VEVO page, the set is fittingly intimate and foreboding, featuring the band playing the song with all of the edge and stewing fervor that you would expect out of one of America’s greatest modern rock outlets.
