The 1939 The Wizard of Oz starring Judy Garland, was probably the most infamous adaption of L. Frank Baum’s novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
CBS is taking on the task of bringing their Oz adaptation to the small screen.
CBS revealed that they are taking the classic The Wizard of Oz story and turning it into….a medical drama. According to Deadline, the medical drama will be properly named Dorothy, and is deemed to be “a medical soap in New York City”.
The project will have executive producers Carl Beverly and Sarah Timberman of Elementary as well as Emily Fox of Ghost Whisperer who will write the script and will also executive produce.
Along with CBS, Syfy is working on an fantasy-action based series called Warriors of Oz that will be directed by Timur Bekmambetov.
