Find Out How To Lose a Mom In Ten Days On This Week’s ‘The Mindy Project’

Dating a mama’s boy is always a struggle. You already have to compete with other women to keep your man’s attention, but when you have to compete with the mom too, that’s where you need to draw the line. Mindy had to deal with the, “creepy, Norman Bates-style son-husband” relationship between Danny and Annette in last night’s The Mindy Project, which wasn’t as easy as she thought. 

While Mindy and Danny are taking a bath together, Annette barges into the bathroom to tell Danny a story. When she leaves, Mindy voices her frustrations about their relationship and how Annette takes Danny’s phone and replies to her sexts. Mindy decides that she is going to set her up on a date with an older doctor, hoping it would distract her from Danny. 

The date goes well, but it has sparked a new Annette and she now wants to go on more dates with more men. She has gone to online dating as a way to meet more men. 

Morgan, who has just been dumped by Tamra, has also turned to online dating. Peter sets up a dating profile for him and Morgan gives some of the weirdest answers I have ever heard. His interests: “dog husbandry and spending time with Grandmother,” professional income: “impoverished.” 

Mindy wants to set Morgan and Annette up to prevent them from finding dates online. She thinks that Annette’s date with Morgan will be so bad that she will be over the dating thing and Danny also wouldn’t be able to blame her for turning his mom into a “Staten Island tart.” However, the plan fails because the date goes well. Danny is not happy when he finds out about the date and, to make things worse, they go on a double date with Morgan and Annette. 

Mindy cuts the dinner short and Annette and Danny go outside to talk about his dad. Meanwhile, inside the restaurant, Tamra finds Mindy and Morgan sitting at the table together. She thinks that Mindy is his new hookup, but when she finds out the truth she asks him to take her back. 

Danny and Mindy try to take another bath together and Annette comes knocking on the door once again. This time she brings ziti, which Mindy says is “perfect bath food.” 

I was hoping this would be a Thanksgiving Castellano/Lahiri family dinner, but it was still a solid episode.
