‘The Mortal Instruments’ To Live On As A TV Series

After not doing well at the movies, beloved book series ‘The Mortal Instruments’ is being revived on television, but as of now no networks are interested.

Fans of the young adult novel series The Mortal Instruments will get another chance to see their favorite characters brought to life on screen. After the poor box office performance of the 2013 movie version, many fans assumed the story would never be adapted for other media again. Now Constantin Film, the production company that owns the rights to the books, has announced that the series will be adapted for television.

“It actually makes sense to do (the novels) as a TV series,” Constantin executive Martin Moszkowicz explained to The Hollywood Reporter.“There was so much from the book that we had to leave out of the Mortal Instruments film. In the series we’ll be able to go deeper and explore this world in greater detail and depth.”

Production on the television series should begin next year. No broadcast outlets have committed to the show as of yet.
