Having a decent sense of humor in Hollywood seems to be lacking these days. The most recent case would involve The O.C.‘s Mischa Barton going against the director of the recently released The Bling Ring, Sophia Coppola.
In The Bling Ring, which is about a group of teenage burglars in the Hollywood Hills that was inspired be real events, there is a character that says, “Mischa Barton got a DUI.” This is referring to when she got her DUI in 2007. You’d think enough time would have passed for Barton to laugh about it and let it go but instead she took to Twitter to express her feelings on the matter.
She then continued to talk about the movie some more by saying, “The whole idea of this movie, granted I haven’t seen it, creeps me out #theblingring #undeserved.”
It has been quite awhile since I’ve seen Mischa on the big or small screen, so perhaps this name drop by Coppola in The Bling Ring was a blessing in disguise!
