It may not be the sequel to Christopher Nolan’s Inception, but the first glimpse of the upcoming sci-fi film Transcendence looks like a level out of someone’s dream consciousness.
The first official trailer has dropped, check it out below:
Johnny Depp stars as Will, a computer scientist researching the point when artificial intelligence exceeds human intelligence, known as “the singularity”. After anti-technology activists attack, Will is forced to upload himself to the computer system.
“It’s a very timely subject as we find we have to update the software on our cell phones before we can even make a call,” first-time director Wally Pfister told EW.
Here’s the two teasers that were released previously:
Pfister has worked with Nolan on The Dark Knight Trilogy, including Nolan’s earlier films, and won an Academy Award for his work on Inception in 2010.
Morgan Freeman, Rebecca Hall and Inception’s Cillian Murphy join Depp in this futuristic flick.
Audiences will get to see Transcendence on April 25, 2014.
