When it comes to the Pussycat Dolls, lots of people tend to forget that there were five other girls backing up the lead singer, Nicole Scherzinger.
Two days ago, former member of the group Ashley Roberts unveiled the video for her new single, “Woman Up”; an energetic, up-beat song that unfortunately lacks originality. However, the music video is colorful and former Pussycat Doll Kimberly Wyatt even makes an appearance for a few seconds.
We wanted to make the video reflect the song: bright, fun, and full of energy, so got the great Sisco Gomez (who worked with Kylie Minogue, Madonna and Sugababes) to do the choreography, said Roberts.
She also revealed that she was excited about promoting her new music:
I’ve just been putting my heart into it. This is my baby. I’ve been through a lot in the past with being in a girl group and coming out on my own – how is it going to do?
Only time will tell.
Roberts single “Woman Up” is available on August 25. Her album, Butterfly Effect, hits the stores on September 1.
