Sophie, Countess of Wessex, and Sherlock Holmes actor, Benedict Cumberbatch, found good company in each other on a sunny afternoon on the lush lawns of Buckingham Palace. Benedict’s fans made it clear that they wished they had been in Sophie’s shoes as Twitter exploded with their envy.

It’s no secret that the fashion at any royal event will be analyzed to the hilt, so looking pristine comes with the territory. Sophie’s fitted black and white dress was perfectly suited for a royal garden party, and her chic hat really brought the whole ensemble together. She looks classy, chic, and beautiful.

At 4 p.m., the royal party made their grand entrance to a rousing rendition of the national anthem played by one of two military bands that were booked to the play through-out the event. A hearty spread of cakes, sandwiches, and a custom-made tea called “Buckingham Palace Garden Party Tea” was provided. The guests were also permitted to wander the gardens which are not generally open to the public.

What would you give to be invited to one of the Queen’s garden parties?
