I reported this a few months back, but the time has finally come, as this weekend, The Simpsons took the Hollywood Bowl.

Voice-actors Hank Azaria, Yeardley Smith and Nancy Cartwright performed at an all-star music event this weekend, that saw some of the most memorable Simpsons moments performed live.

“Weird Al” Yankovic, who is a friend of the show, performed a song he wrote for the show, entitled “Homer and Marge” (set to the tune of “Jack and Diane” by John Melloncamp). The Gay Man’s Chorus of Los Angeles performed a choir version of “Spider-Pig”, and the brilliantly talented Hans Zimmer performed live on stage with his orchestra as they performed the music to the Oscar-nominated short film, The Longest Daycare.

There were several other memorable moments, including Conan O’Brien singing the classic Monorail Song, and recurring guest star Jon Lovitz offering a tribute to the genius Phil Hartman, who voiced Troy McClure and Lionel Hutz.

The show will continue tonight (September 13) and tomorrow as well.
