The iconic Sorcerer’s Hat has been removed from Walt Disney World. It graced the park’s grounds since 2001. No word yet on what will replace it.

It’s a sad day for The Walt Disney World theme park, or as we all know it, the Happiest Place on Earth . The Sorcerer’s Hat, which has been the park’s most recognizable landmark since 2001, has been removed. Disney announced the removal back in October but it was only a matter of when it would be removed.

The deconstruction process is in its seventh week and there’s practically nothing left to be seen of the once 122-foot tall majestic hat. Disney has yet to announce what will be replacing it and it’s entirely possible that the empty space will remain exactly like that: empty. For the sake of The Sorcerer’s Hat, I hope they build something new!
