Fans were elated when The Voice announced their very first road-tour following a successful season six. The best of seasons five and six joined forces with season one alum, Dia Frampton, to bring The Voice to you, the fans.
I had the chance to take in The Voice tour experience during their stop at the Bob Carr Centre in Orlando; and I can assure you I was not disappointed. The talen was in no short supply and the energy was high as The Voice alumni took the stage for upbeat group numbers as well as stand-out individual performances.
I’ve been a fan of YouTube sensation Christina Grimmie for as long as I can remember and was ecstatic for her when she landed in the top three on season six; and even more-so when I found out she’d be joining the tour this summer. She rocked her signature style and belted out melodies like only she can. One of my favorite’s of the night was when she slowed it down for “Say Something” which she performed with Will Champlin.
Will Champlin, Jacquie Lee and Tessanne were just as incredible live on stage as they were on the show. Tessanne’s duet of “Stay” with Josh Kaufman was definitely a highlight of the night.
Kristina Merlin and Jake Worthington whole heartedly embraced their country roots and even got the rest of the group involved in a little hoedown throwdown for a fun cover “Sweet Home Alabama.”
Jake Barker brought the moves and a bit of Timberlake influence to a fun group performance of “Turn Down For What.”
Overall, you could tell the group was having a blast. They can all seriously sing and the crowd was eating up every moment. Check out a gallery of photos below and be sure and check out TheVoice.com/tour for dates heading to your area!
