‘The Walking Dead’ Season 5 To End With 90-Minute Episode

‘The Walking Dead’ has proved to be a ratings-killer for AMC once again, so the network decided to make the season 5 finale a 90-minute affair.

Earlier last year, AMC made sure to renew its post-apocalyptic drama The Walking Dead for a sixth season, before the fifth one had even premiered. With the show proving to be a ratings-killer once again, the decision turned out to be the right one and the network is now making sure to extend the season finale to the longest runtime the show has received up to this point.

Apparently, The Walking Dead will say goodbye to the audiences with a 90-minute episode. It would be safe to say that the series will be on air twice the time it usually does on March 30, when the season finale is currently scheduled to come out. With a whole new world currently introduced for our beloved survivors, no one can imagine what could possibly go down in double as much action as the regular. If anything, there’s definitely more trouble on the way for them.

The fifth season of The Walking Dead consists of 16 episodes, with the thirteenth one scheduled to air this coming Sunday. It has yet to be announced how the extension of the season finale will affect the network’s schedule. The Talking Dead could very well be shortened to not affect other programmes, but it’s more likely that it will be expanded as well. Oh well, we’ll have to wait and see how it goes.
